Searching through posts I found this...I did ok as the season closed.
Worst day was 4 hooked, zero boated. Best day, proir to that was a 1.5hr tussle with a ~60" fish and my wife at the helm, using a Penn 850 and an Ugly Schtik. She still contends we had it close enough to the boat for me to hand over the rod and reel and stick it with the gaff...I ended out pulling the hook. But boy did I learn alot that day; what not to do... :roll:
The busted rod was the last mishap of the season; it ended out between the boat and the fish as it was boated.
Lots of us up here prowl Stellwagen Bank and Jefferies Ledge.
This one, Dale posted, actually came in close to 75#, I think, ~50".
Each of those fillets weighed in at 25#.
