I just had to pass this one on, found a really nice product. Two years ago I bought my rain shields and the manufacturer said they installed with an automotive / marine grade clear adhesive. It has worked great with no problems. I had a project at home over the weekend, to keep it short. I needed to install glass in two doors I had shipped from the cabinet manufacturer, they sent it with crappy clips and said they normally just silicone the glass in. Well me and silicone don't get along. like a 2 year old with a tube of tooth paste, so I went to home depot to see what I could find. I found a roll of 3M adhesive like the one used on the rain shields. So I gave it a shot. I cut it into strips installed it on the frame and installed the glass. It is crystal clear as it says on the label. It is not a double sided tape, it is more like a very firm gel strip almost like a semi dry silicone, it very well may be a silicone based product..dunno and boy does it stick. I touched the edge of the glass to one side of the frame and there was no trying to reposition it. The first pic of the frame has the adhesive strip installed, The next pic you can see where I removed the red backing as its coiled on the table and the adhesive is clear and shiny on the frame. I did install the crappy clips only because I had previously drilled the pilot holes. But cabinets aside this product would work great instead of suction cups or drilling into the boat for many applications. I also found it in small plastic type Velcro strips, no cloth all plastic Velcro.
