A omplaint I have in an otherwise great boat is the battery compartments trapping water on deck of my 2120. Not a major issue just one of those little anoyances. Right now I am running the crew back and forth to list the boat to one side or the other.

I'm thinking of cutting a drain in the outboard corners of each side to either 1) drain to the outside or 2) drain through the compartment and out to the scupper recess at the stern.

Anyone done this?

Dear Claymar

I have the same boat but not this problem. I think you may still have the

splash guard that is mounted between the 2 battery boxes. If so best

solution get rid of it. I have not had any problems doing this. It also

makes cleaning of the deck a lot easier.

Hope This Helps !

Claymar/Bean, I did the samething with my 2120 PH. I removed the splash guard. Drove me crazy trying ot get all of the water out when washing the boat. I now put a cooler in that space when fishing and it seems to work fine for me. I thought about raising the splash guard off of the deck a bit with spacers but, dedcided to just remove it entirely. Glad I did. Tight Lines!

I wanted to keep the splash board in (little children) so I added two scuppers on the inboard side of the existing splash board holes. Water still collects more on my starboard side, but easy to flush it out with a hose or rocking since lots more drainage area through the splash board with the two larger scupper holes..............Pete

I too own a 2120 PH and have never had the problem of water in the battery boxes. What I did have was water coming over the transom and I had wet feet constantly. It took a lot of work and a lot of money but I no longer have the problem. Parker does make a great boat but like all others there is always a problem with a following sea coming over the transom when the engine is mounted directly to the transom.

Wonder if you noticed any performance changes (plus or minus) by moving the engine back - looks like maybe a foot?

If you tilt the engine all the way up, assume it does not hit the transom? Reason I ask is that could be I could add the swim platform like you have and not fill the transom hole but just put in a piece of removable starboard?

No question your transom looks great. ..........................Pete

ppem45,

Saw that modification once before. Looks really good. Would really like to do it but I think its a little drastic for my skill level. You guys that do that well impress the daylights out of me.

I was wondering about performance also. Given that this boat is a little heavy in the butt anyway is the shift in the weight to the rear going to be noticable in any way?

That is a good question and was the first thing I thought about when I called Armstrong, the manufacturer. In the past they had trouble with some of the engine brackets. Since, then they went to work to figure out just what the best solution was and came up with a relatively simple idea and that was to enlarge the size of the flotation tank under the platform. They now make the flotation tank a standard 30" wide instead of the old ones which were 18". All I had to do was give them the figures of degrees and angle plus the depth of the transom, they did the rest. It was a big undertaking but not my biggest project. I did a 1973 Aquasport 22.2 CC and when it was done it looked like new but with a lot of design changes. I am 63 years old and have done 13 boats but this is my last. Here is a couple of pictures of my Aquasport. These are the same boat after a little work. Pete
