I got a little extra project done this week, I needed some lights in the cockpit. As I got rummaging around in the wire channel over the door I found an extra hotwire and ground that the previous owner must have installed. The only thing I can think is that he must have had floodlights on the top of the cabin (because there were extra holes up there) . I know that they stole the rocket launcher and must have also taken the lights. Well anyway, I was able to use the bolts from the new rocket launcher to install the lights and to get them out of the weather up under the overhang of the roof. It was an easy install and they are out of the way of fishing etc. I don't do much night fishing but it will be nice to have them if I should need them. I got them from Defender for $82.00 to my door. I suppose at some point I will install a spotlight in case I ever need it. These are the little fun jobs that I like doing.

Are they LED's ? If not, be very sensitive to battery draw if you are going to use them for an extended period of time. They can kill the juice in your battery fast....

I don't go out at night so I will probably not use them at all. If were going to use them then I would have installed high end LED's. Thanks for the heads up though!

It seems that most of my fishing is for snapper at night lately. I use two 24 inch florescent lights. One in the front of the T-top and one in the back. I find that they do not blind you and use little juice. To put one in the middle above your door and then maybe some small LED's under the gunnels would work out nice.

Opinions are like a-holes, everyone’s got one :)
