You guys are killing me with the Colored Hull responses. Yes I am a Parker owner and I have a colored hull. There, I said it! And for what its worth, I'm partial to dark green with gold graphics and boot. But the Ice Blue and Light Yellow are very nice. My color was painted on. Although the paint is easy to clean and wax, every sinker that bangs the hull leaves a mark.

why are we killing you???? :?: :?: :?:

This from my dealer:

Parker has offered (on a trial basis) the opportunity for dealers to order "colored hulls".

Unlike what Grady White is doing with their color options, Parker is coloring the actual gel coat as opposed to painting the hulls (like Grady).
The colors offered are Sea Foam (a light green), Carolina Blue, and Fighting Lady Yellow.

I have not seen even a sample of a Sea Foam hull, but I have seen pictures of the Carolina Blue. And I have to say it looked pretty good. We currently have a Fighting Lady Yellow 2100SE on order.

It is a fairly affordable option (about 10%-15% of what Grady Charges for their painted hulls).

I don't think it is that... :)
He just prefers gel coat over paint.

Gel coat doesn't show imperfections (like sinker damage) and it is 10 to 15% the cost of paint.
I think it is a smart move by Parker.

just to clarify, you mean when the boat is initially built and popped from the mold, right?

Our gel coat is getting pretty sorry looking (I can't seem to restore the shine, and the black dots are starting to show through on the textured "non-slip" surfaces in a couple spot), so I'm already starting to research this "gel coat vs. paint" issue.

From what I have read so far, spraying Awlgrip paint sounds like a better solution for an existing boat than re-applying gel coat (which is better for popping a boat from a new mold)

I believe that you are correct.
