I promise to dig u a post from another site i did a fabrication and installation of a Profish 700 ff 3 years ago .
Now i know its not a parker but it may just help so of my new found Parker buddies ....i get it on by tomorrow night
Ok its all out of order but ill will answer as many questions as i can
The opening of locker on most boats is not really strong.....!!!
so by adding blocks to sides it creates a larger surface area for lid to land on.
The aluminum plate is 3/8" thick and is there to distribute load on the surface of deck and to also grab blocks.
The spacer on plate is so when the forward bolt is down it is grabbing evenly.
The rear bolts pass thru beef of deck hull and are also bolted thru a 1/2" solid aluminum spacer underside(inside cabin)
I was shooting for as much line in locker so i learned from others that when using 1/2" line u will BIND UP and will need access to pull it out in a hurry!!!
HENCE the SPLIT 70/30 locker door with a hasp......
It worked out well buy eventually i ended up cutting the line from 330' plus 20' of 1/4" chain to 260 feet plus 15' of chain......
Moral of my post.........
1st and foremost.........If you r going to do a free fall in a smaller lockerd boat know you limits of line to drop ratio u need 11-12" free drop (space from bottom inside to top of pile of line and chain)
If you have less then as it piles up it will bind.....
If you r only going to use it for inshore (less than 90' of sea floor then you should be o.k.) ....
Dont really know what the locker on my or any Parker is so this is irrelevant for now......
Until someone chimes in with line totals.....(whit out binding)
2nd is if i do it again i am going to use a vertical capstan on my starboard gunnel behind my second station and put kleet guides/blocks and a nice basket of 600' of line and its gonna have a thigh button so i can lean up against gunnel switch ...!!!!
I will aslo have a double anchor too.....!!!!
This all being said ....the unit was good but not for the type of fishing i do !!!
Enjoy and ask away!!!
PS i paid $710 for my profish thru WESTmarine's "PORT Supply"
also there are wiring issues i didnt cover yet but im tired and ill post later if asked
