What have you done to improve your Parker CC?

T-Top
Change livewell pump to higher capacity cartridge type
Change standpipe on livewell to drain fish debris in bottom
Add large Bennett trim tabs
Move tab control from under left of wheel to above throttle
Change electronics cab door to "old style" bi-pass type
Add a inch and a quarter x same piece of teak around console edge
Add a water pressure guage
Get rid of troublesome horn (if you have one) and use a plastic whistle
Change to Airmar "Tilted Element" ducer
Install a custom FinAddict tackle drawer set in side of console
Add a second 2000gph bilge pump

Let me know when you finish, I think there's more

Hmmm.

I'm interested in adding a saltwater washdown. My stock baitwell pump seems to have two outlets, but it also seems small.

Also interested in getting rid of the standpipe system.

And adding a second or larger bilge pump.

x Replaced horizontal rod racks, standard rods on port side, fly on starboard

x Added custom vertical fly rod & pliers holder on starboard side of console

x Removed bow rail

x Added stainless grab rail to starboard side of console

x Added secondary/backup bilge pump

x Added under gunnel red/white LED lighting

Most everything else was good to go when I got her.

My new to me Paker 23SE came from a well known Cape Cod flyfishing guide and this boat was custom for him. Lean and mean. I knew about Parker boats and was in the market for a built to last tank that I could design and build on to my specs if possible.

Here is what I have done thusfar:

*add T-TOP
*add 3 parts of a 5 part Phone booth stamoid/ strataglass enclosure
*add helm console electronics box
*add remote 2,000,00 cp spot/floodlight
*add front/rear spreader lights
*add LED All aound Anchor/Running Light
*add white+red led helm lights(underside of upper electronics box)
*add M260 ducer
*add transom temp and speed sensor
*add custom Furuno console face plate (scott cambra)
*add 2 10" Furuno Navnets in custom
*add psea hub for electronics
*add heading sensor for overlay
*add 2 custom switch panels with switch and breaker for each electrical item on boat (scott cambra)
*add ICOM 504 and CM III Mic
*add Clarion CMD5
*add Clarion Puck remote
*add Ipod Changer
*add JL Audio 4 Channel Amp
*add 2 pairs JL Audio M770-CCS
*add Bucket Holder with elastaic cord knife and plier holder
*add additional knife plier holder
*add lure holder under leaning post
*add boga grip holder

NEXT WEEKEND
*adding red+white under gunnel led lights(hopefully from scott cambra)
*adding inside console red and white led light
*adding grocco raw water washdown
*adding 2-4 rod holders with ss backing plates
*adding ss drink holders

FUTURE:
* steal the sweetheart of an under gunnel flyrod holder from Wild Bill
* add center rigger
* add outriggers Lee? Taco 250/350? Top Gunz?
* switch out trim tab switch to led indicator style and relocate
* tackle station
* have a bilge like that of capt kev.........
* keep boating and fishing my nutsack off!

What I can say about all of the customizations that I have on my 23SE is that 90% of them I have flat out stolen or reinterpreted from the people here at Classic Parker.
One might say that I am obsessed and addicted with my boat and my fishing habits. Luckily I have found a place where I can learn it all from the people who have very similar tendencies and "hobbies".
That place is Classic Parker.

can I get a hankerchief now?

Photos, guys, I want photos. And drawings! :)

These are some lists!

We're too busy fishing...besides, we're not "goin' without, we choose to leave the "bedrooms" at the dock!

Just wondering, what did you use to change the standpipe on your livewell. I'm looking to do the same. Thanks!

Good to go right out of the box, just added name and got down to business fishing.

This is long and wordy...

Take a block of wood and hammer, carefully tap off ends of Parker standpipe.

Make a new standpipe as tall as possible (increases capacity) and glue on ends. Pipe is common size thinwall available @ Lowes type stores. Also reduces sloshing (full livewell) which destroys pogies (bunker). Jamming pipe in against livewell top reduces chance of it falling out.

While @ Lowes, get a short piece of thick wall (maybe 1.5") PVC that you can almost force over the new thinwall piece. Cut about 1" piece of it. Cut it so you can force it over the new standpipe. Push it to bottom (w/rubber threads installed over standpipe). Now drill 3/8" holes thru ring and standpipe. You can now adjust for some drainage off bottom. No more fish poop or pee in bottom of livewell killing your bait.

Change livewell pump to the Rule 700 (or so) pump. They make 2 (500 & 700). It's a plug and play change. Be sure to get the Rule cartridge type and keep a spare on board. Easy to change out underway.

You now have a pressurized, high volume livewell that drains off top and bottom for under 50 bucks or so. Downside is, yes, some water will overflow the edges of lid and fingerholes and get on deck. Upside is a happy pogie is an EATEN pogie.

I have not made many large permanent changes, but I have done several things to improve the usability of the space. First, I love the electronics box, but don't like the way the piston holds the door sticking straight out at me. I removed the piston, and tied a loop of rope around the top of the windshield. It is just long enough to fit over the backside of the lock mechanism and holds the door in an upright position. It is out of my way, and also functions as a another "wall" to keep things from sliding off the top of the console.

The other two modifications are related to the lack of built in storage on the 23 SE. I wanted more dry storage so I put two large coolers in the bow area held in place with ropes around the struts under the gunwale. They hold all my life jackets, freeing up the console for tackle and 10 2-piece spinning rods, plus tools, spare oil, etc. Whenever I take family and friends out for a sightseeing ride, they always sit on the coolers to talk to one another.

I wanted a few more vertical rod holders but did not want to drill any holes in the boat. Instead, I mounted a 3-slot rod holder on the front of a medium size cooler. I used stainless bolts that go completely through the front wall of the cooler and are held in place with stainless nuts. The cooler is taken home at the end of each trip. When I come the next time, the cooler is loaded with ice, drinks, and snacks, and can be lifted onboard.

I've added two more rod holders to the gunnel area as well as two rod holders in the bow area. I got the idea from the layout in this months Saltwater Sportsman magazine. Now I can troll six rods without taking up the space aft of the leaning post. The two up front will be great when trolling for tuna and when you have one on and you need to quickly clear a line and get the setup out of the way. And yes, the rod holders have backing plates.

I upgraded to Johnson bilge pumps and added a backup. I also junked the plastic thru hull's that came from the factory and upgraded to stainless ones. It was a PITA to find ones that would work given the restricted space but I managed to get it done.

I added Rupp Top Gun outriggers & bases last year. I'm going to add radar and possibly a 60 inch coffin box this winter. Unless I upgrade......

Uncle Matt,

You've got a great T-Top on that Parker. It is made by Custom Marine Fabrication in New Bern NC. I've got the same hardtop with their stainless steel frame. Love the built in radio box. Nice lookin'.
