Ok just want to hear best way to drain fuel from 21se tank. I have access to and was going to pull sending unit and put a hose it and drain it from there. Any thoughts better ideas?

This is what I do.......

- disconnect the fuel hose from underneath the engine cowling where it connects to the filter assembly.
- connect hose section to that hose and put end in 5 gallon gas can placed on ground.
- pump primer ball a few times to start siphon.
- wait while gas transfers to gas can.... Not a fast process so go do something else, drink a beer, etc..... :D

Be sure to have the bow up to maximize the amount of gas you can remove from the tank.

I have done the same as BradSE21 and I add a section of longer hose with hose barb connection to drain out the drain plug hole to get better gravity siphon. For larger amounts I got a (OK for Fuel) hand crank transfer pump and this pulls every drop out as long as I keep cranking the pump I think I got this at a hardware store but auto parts stores will also have fuel approved transfer pumps.

This is your best method...I put a 4oz lead weight on the end of the hose with a tie wrap to hold it in the bottom of the tank.

The fuel gets run thru a paint strainer filter that is placed in a Fuel water filter funnel and then into a 55gal can. This is done with a elec fuel pump set up that goes thru a spin on filter 1st.

Water settles to the bottom of the tank. You want that OUT!.....The other suggestion will not pick up the last of the fuel or trash, as the pickup is not on the bottom of the tank.

I then suck out of the 55gal can with the same process and filter setup.....This goes into a 5gal can....This fuel then goes in autos to burn.

Then with 5gal of fresh fuel and fuel tank cleaner.

The boat is tilted for 24hrs up on the trailer....Then tilted down for 24hrs.

Then up again and that fuel sucked out and filtered as before.

This is how I clean tanks. Clean tanks make for Happy boating. :)
