The floor in the pilot house can be very slick if it has any moisture on the surface. Has anyone used the product "Dri-Dek", i.e. www.dri-dek.com , on the floor of their boat and if so what is your opinion of the product?

Thanks.

It looks very very nice from what i see in there add,i use a rubber carpet that i got the idea from someone on here i cut it to fit and it works awesome and easy to clean if you need to and just lay it on dock to dry when i had too,i think it just made it easier on my feet as well a little soft but hey everyone has there own idea on it.I got it at hope depot or lowes for $20 and that was that!!!

Keith

I have it in my cockpit in back and pilothouse
I have had it for six years
I got it in black
It looks great and even drains better
It gets softer in the summer sun but not too soft
It gets stiffer in the winter but I can still bend and remove it if needed
I love being able to drop my dive weights on it
And some times tanks if they slip out of hand
It stays off the deck about 3/8 of an inch giving space for cushion and drainage
The kids however think it hurts their feet a little
That’s about the only negative I could say
It doesn’t fade or bleed color at least not as long as I have had it
And Id says it’s just about indestructible

Works great inside the console of a CC as well. Keeps the items dry, and lets air circulate a bit ...

Sully Did you cover all the cockpit floor? If so did you put it in in sections or all as one unit. Just want to know how easy it is to move to clean under it. Thanks Sean

I custom fitted it in the pilothouse
And the complete cockpit
I set tile for a living
And also have done my share of Rug and lino years back
So it wasn’t that bad for me
Although I will say its tough stuff to cut
I used a Rug knife not to be confused with your standard utility blade
I rug knife is double edged blade sharp as a scalpel
I also used on the straight runs a “Cutco” brand scissors
Kind you use to cut up poultry worked well
Its doesn’t have any wire in or anything to dull the scissors
I wanted it fitted to prevent it from moving around
Sharp knife, Sharp scissors and just goes slow
Take a few breaks or days fit it in nice you’ll love it

P.S. watch your fingies

I had a different experience with it- scissors worked great. Nice clean cuts, the only downfall I have is they can wear on the feet after a while

Yea sully it works awesome i like it very much!!!was a nice easy @20 spent and easy to change if i have too!!

No ...No marks!
I have had it down and in the sun for 6yrs
And no fade as of yet!

Sully: I just order 18 squares from West Marine. I decided to get the Almond color. What do you think of the Almond color-like it-don't like it?

Summer-time no black marks at all i think you will be fine with the almond i am sure!!You should like it alot.Sully is rite no marks

I agree with Keith
Almound should be fine
I just wanted black to go with the black trim and rub rail
Also being a pale irishmen I thought it might cut down on Sun glare

HaHaHa that is funny sully you pale Irish Man!!!That was very good i like that!!!Like we both said you will be fine with the almond.
