Hi, I'm in the middle of getting price quotes to do an enclosure on my 21se with a t-top. The first guy said 2100 for one with wings and around 12-1300 without using sheetglass and sunbrella. Waiting on the second quote.
2 questions. One are the wings really worth it? (I fish the NY Bight into December. Its pretty cold.) Do they really cut out the wind and spray better than the three sided enclosure? I generally fish alone so I'm right behind the console. And 2 are these prices where they should be? And what should I watch out for?
My first quote is from Jeans Canvas in Belford NJ.
Thanks!

get the wings. I went out striper fishing 3 weeks ago on my 23 cc without the canvas & nothing but cold spray hitting my in the side of the face. wings would have kept me dry. 15-20 kts quartering into the wind.

I agree. The wings are worth their weight in gold when the wind blows.

If you want to get even more serious, here is what several of the guides around here do to their 21SE's for fishing in the winter weather.

Ah Kevin,
A picture of the Old Penns Beach Marina. I miss that dumpy marina, kept my previous boat there for a few years!

I froze my A$$ off in my old CC get the wings.

Get the wings. They work. Mine are simple. Once I get to where I'm going I can unzip the outside edge and fasten them back to the rear T-Top support. The work I had done cost $1600. It included the wings and hardware, the console enclosure, the console cover, and leaning post cover. The canvas was matching Sunbrella material. The glass was 40 mil Regalite instead of Strataglass. The Regalite glass is quite a bit cheaper than the Strataglass, but not quite as durable.
