hey guys I need some help, I have a brand new 2320 sports cabin with a 250 Yamaha 4 stroke. I just got in off the Chesapeake and when we loaded the boat up we realized we hit somthing on the lower unit, It took about a 4" peice of the lower unit completely off the motor, not sure what we hit but the part is broke off and gone. Who can fix this and where? any idea of cost? please help

I will try and post pics tonight, I tried once before but could not get them to load. The part is the very bottom of the motor below the prop. The last "fin" on the motor

skeg. you can get a skeg guard that just goes over it. as long as you didnt damage/crack the lower unit oil housing which is up higher in front of the prop you should be fine unless you want to get one welded back on. Mine are dinged up and ones missing part of it. Doesnt seem to make much of a difference. I would imagine its there to help protect the prop.

If you have insurance call them and have them replace the whole lower unit.
