looking at a used 04 yamaha 4 stroke 200 hp with 650 hours anything i should look for?
thanks for the help

As long as it runs. Bryan has one on here actually two. I havent heard of any complaints from him. I have the 225s with no complaints. Just make sure it runs good shifts well. I know some of the older yamahas had a recall on the linkage but if the guy used it its probably taken care of.

Check to see that it was taken care of and that it runs good.you can also drain the lower unit oil for about 15 bucks this will sometimes tell if the motor was service the way the owner claims. If it checks out good buy it and put 5000 hours on it.

My 2004 F200 has only 327 hours on it and has been flawless. No hiccups, no service beyond regular maintenance, and it's never quit or sent me home early.

Yes, check to see if the recalls were done on the shift linkage, mine are 03's and I'm not sure when the cut off for that TSB was but mine had two. One for bushings in the shift linkage and one for ball and socket joints in the linkage.

Also check to see if the trim gauge works, mine were frozen when I bought the boat but it was an easy fix by replacing the sender.

Check the condition of the head zincs too, mine were starting to leak a little salt water, looked like someone took them out then ruined the seal upon reinstallation.

Great engine as far as I'm concerned.
