I thought it would be best to top off the tank before putting my boat to bed for the winter. When winterized they stabalized the fuel that is in there now, about 1/4 -1/2 tank. He told me to leave it be and let the new separator take care of any condensation in the spring. Saying its better than chancing a full tank of bad fuel next season. What do you guys who live here up normally do?

Since the switch to gasoline with Ethanol here in MA, I've been draining my tank as low as it will go for the winter. Its a hassle, but I'd rather deal with a little water from condensation than 100 gallons of bad gas that has turned into sludge.

Ding, ding, ding.

That is what I've been hearing for the last couple of years, and that is what I've been doing.

Besides, the issue of condensation on the inside of the tank is mostly a myth. Go to David Pascoe's site and read his article.

He makes a living doing yacht surveys and has seen it all. Also seems to have some technical and mathematics capabilities and has a good argument. Boat manufacturers hate him, but he has had a big impact on the way they build boats. He is one of those guys they can't avoid or ignore too long.
