I bought an '88 Parker for a business I'm starting and looking for any help/knowledge about renovating the boat. I have a people helping with fiberglass work..anything that I should watch out for/keep an eye out on would be super helpful! also looking for the plug on the boat to drain it but having some trouble.

thanks

Congrats!

Check the fuel tank or replace it now.

Check all top spots for wood rot.

Expect some re wiring and do it right. New switches and breaker. Marine grade wire. Waterproof connectors. LED lights.

Buy new anchor rode and chain. Check Cable Loft web site for best price.

I like Sim Yamaha for parts.

Upgrade helm, hoses and ram.
Same for steering cables.

Cecil Marine web site has some Parker parts online.

Windows are probably made by Wynne and sell parts online.

Buy a decent windlass.

Buy new batteries. Might need to increase house battery bunk.

Visit Blue Seas electrical web site

Sorry....There must be something more to this ? aside the obvious garboard plug in the transom, BUT......It may be possible that you have one in the transom area bilge that goes thru the bottom....It takes a T wrench .

I've Never seen one on a boat.....Only a catalog. If the bilge is really dirty you may not see it, except from under the boat.
