I just bought these from home depot and found they do a great job of securing rods in the cabin. They are rubber coated soft wire that works like a giant twist tie. I hold one or two of them in place with ss half round eyelets then just pile the rods on and twist the rubber ties to quickly keep the rods from bouncing all around.

I even managed to secure two 9' spoon rods out of the way behind the bench seat in my little 2120SC At only $6.00 a pair they are the best boating bargain I've ever found. Lots of uses for these things. They also are holding my leader wheels and dock lines. Your going to love these things!!!
 
I keep a roll of that stuff on my work bench. It is amazing how handy that stuff is but I've never used it on the boat. I'll put a roll on there too.
