2003 Yam 150 HPDI, thinking about preventive measures. Have replaced 10 micron fuel water filter, wondering about the 3 fuel-related filters under the cowling. Should I replace all three? Motor is running OK, plugs not that pretty after trolling 6 hrs, have switched to Penzoil semi.

FILTER ELEMENT

VAPOR SEPARATOR TANK FUEL PUMP FILTER

MEDIUM PRESSURE FUEL FILTER STRAINER

Anything else fuel-related that I should do? Already running ring-free, startron.

Thanks Gentlemen,

Bryce

I clean or replace the VST filter every year and do the medium pressure fuel strainer every other year. The filter element on the engine not so often as it is a little tricky. I carry spares of all three on board as we trailer the boat (you never know). I generally clean the VST filter if possible and carry as a back up.

Are you doing the work? I think SIM has the best prices. Andy is a good guy and gives loads of advice and instruction on his forum on THT. Look under products for Shipyard Island Marina (SIM).

I change all of the filters every year. Had the injectors cleaned about a month ago. It is all pretty easy to do. I also change plugs. I swapped to Penzoil xlf last year and couldn't be happier.
