Wanted to throw this out the CP members. I change the fuel water separater filter. I drained the contents of the filter after change out into a clear palstic tub (Sterlite clear view brand) to inspect. The fuel was clear smelled as it should and only had a few fine particles, small rust colored specks ect. that the filter usually traps after 6 months or 50 hours. After the fuel sat in the tub for about 5 minutes it turned very cloudy??? It was a very humid day and the fuel sat in sun light on the deck of the boat after the service. What could have have caused the change from good clear looking fuel to cloudy gunk just being exposed to sun light and humid air???. I have had no running problems and just very courious of the transformation of the fuel. I do add stabil marine and ring free. I thought that maybe the plastic container interacted with the fuel, but it did not seem to degrade or be disolved by the fuel. Any ideas would be helpful.

You are right on track, the solvents in the fuel ate away at the surface of the container. (Imagine what is in you food after you microwave your lunch in one of those things.) :D

Another reason why Ethanol is bad for older fuel systems, the solvents clean all the built up debris and usually clog the filters for the first few tanks.
