Guy's, Just an FYI. When buying a used boat that was trailered. Check the Bow eye to see if the inner hull liner was cracked. Some people tend to hold the button too long & crack the inner liner. After a period of time, water gets into the cracks & softens the wood. Hence Bow eye starts to pull out. Not to mention wet & rotted wood in your hull.
If this is not repaired, the bolts will pull through to the hull liner. Not good.
Tell tale signs are threads showing on bow eye where the winch connects.

I have a Superwinch electric winch. I watch that part very carefully. When the bow hits the bow roller, I let it pull another 1/2 second or so and quit.

But...the Megabyte has a crack on the bow where the eyebolt comes out of the bow. I know that from when she sat at Fairwinds next to me, before Kevin bought her. Your post reminded me.
