If I hit a wave my tranducer loses reading. The only way to get my reading back is to turn off then back on. Is this normal.

Did you check to see if the transducer is popping out of the bracket? A lot of the time you need to tighten to set screws on the bracket otherwise if they are lose when you hit turbulence it will pop out of the bracket.

I agree his transducer is probably flopping around on the bracket. He might have hit something which popped it up. Just reach over and snap ducer back into position and you should be good to go.
