Here we go.. My project this week has been to add a forward casting deck and trolling motor to my 1801. It didn't take many beers before my brother in law and I figured out the way we wanted it to work. I removed the bow rail, ordered 8" pop up cleats from Accon Marine, a pop up bow light, and started pulling wire with the help of Aaron Flemming at Boat and Bait Works in Fort Lauderdale.

Here are a few photos of the new casting platform in place and being prepped for painting:

Good looking job....I have one question. How are you going to get the water out of this newly created storage area underneath the deck? I have yet to find a hatch that will not leak some water. You may consider putting two small drain holes at the bottom corners flush with the deck. If water gets in there, even a little, it will sour and mold up that space pretty quickly. I did a similar project on a 23SE a few yrs ago.
