I am looking for a 25 walkaround. I found a 1992 2551 MV for $19,000 through a broker,250 yamaha with a new powerhead in 2003(carbed)
what does every one think?
Could be a lot of extra money needed to make it a lot of boat.
How many hours on the engine?
Are you looking for a turnkey operation or are you willing to work on the boat..... cause my gut is telling me there are going to be a lot of hours spent working on the boat....
Unless you are an expert..... I'd follow the advice I've seen so many times.... get a survey.
I agree with esfish doc. that might be alot of extra money to get it to the way you want it!!! I think you can find a better deal then that!! I am in N.Y. waters here and i have a 2120 i know your looking for a 25 but keep shopping brother, from that picture the motor looks like it has seen some good Hours!!!But your choice man!!!
Boat looks pretty clean and well cared for from the pictures for 16 years old to me. But it's hard to tell without actually seeing it. If the hull is sound and you like the boat I'd say make a serious offer at well under asking price and see what happens. You may find a motivated seller. I'd think the engine with a 5 year old power head is due for a replacement sometime in the not too distant future so you need to figure that into your offer.
