How does $22K sound for a 1999 2300 DVCC with a bracket and '99 200 HP Optimax w/ approx. 300 hrs?? Includes T-top, trailer with new tires and rollers (but no brakes), older GPS and VHF, new bow cushions. Appears to be in decent condition; only a few scratches here and there; nothing major. Boat is in NH. I'm considering buying it.

Hope this helps. I just bought a 2001, 2110 with a Yamaha 175 HP & a VHF radio but no electronics and no trailer. I paid 16K.

Not sure what state you reside in but any boat and trailer over 3000 pounds is required to have brakes in Maryland.
You might want to check your laws before committing to a price.
FWIW - That 23 DVCC is way over 3000 pounds!

I know it needs brakes and used that to get the price from $23K to $22K. Just looking to see if $22K is reasonable.

We have a 03 Opti on a harbormaster boat with 1200 hrs.on it. At about 400hrs. had the starter replaced. At about 750hrs. had high pressure pump replaced. At 875hrs. had the exhaust tuner pipe in midsection replaced. Not warranty, commercial duty  Overall the Merc has been a good powerplant, and ran when we needed it to go! But keep in mind that it was indicated to us that 750 is about the life of the pump. The engine you are looking at is almost halfway there. Let's say the motor goes completely away. A new 200 Opti will be close to what you may be paying for the total package. Then the issue of the trailer. Not knowing where you are towing to, but if it is outside of NH, Mass and CT not to mention RI take a dim view of recreational trailers that are not rated for the weight they are carrying, much less a twin axle trailer with a big boat (3800lbs+) on it and no brakes. Factor in the electronics that have to be upgraded or added. Shoot the deal for a low as you feel comfortable. Christmas is coming and the economy ain't great. That has to weigh for something. $20 even in your hand might look good. Hope it all works out for you.

I own a 2006,came with 250 HP Yam. 4 stroke,no T-Top,came with leaning post, coaming pads and the rest of the OEM items that Parker puts,I paid 42K no trailer back in Sept of 2006,I got a Continental 8500 lbs capacity trailer for 3800.00.

This boat is heavy,3500 lbs dry weight plus 155 gals of fuel plus weight of engine and other goodies,it does have dual axle stainless brakes and they work just fine.

Now I do not want to discurage you,but 200 HP engine is under powered for this type of boat, the boat tends to be bow high and you have to definitely upgrade the trim tabs if it was not already done, they come with 12x12,i changed them to 12x18 and that took care of problem of bow high, also changed to Rev 4 prop to make stern lift.

Now the boat is a tank,it will take any waves thrown at it .

Good luck and welcome to classic parker

Another data point...

I bought a 2000 with a 250 SWS II and dual axle trailer two and a half years ago for $30K.

I have never had the problem with the boat being uncomfortably "bow up" and rarely use my trim tabs at all. Engine tilt does it for me, so I am not in the school of having to replace the stock tabs. Your mileage may vary!

I share the concern about 200 HP being enough for this boat. I also don't have a feel, positive or negative, for Optimax except that a buddy who runs a charter business uses them and love 'em. He gets new ones every two or three season, though. Puts lots of hours on them.

I just want to mention 1 thing. I am a HUGE fan of OptiMaxes. I owned one and ran it for 3 years and nearly 500 hours. It was perfect. Very fuel efficient, powerful, and reliable. I never had a problem and she would troll all day at idle and power right up at the end of the day. Only gripe over the motor was that it was louder than most new technology motors. However, the year you are inquiring about was one of the earlier years of the technology and they had some growing pains in the beginning. Have the motor gone over by a certified opti mechanic to make sure all teh updates have been done and that the power is sound. Once it checks out, run only OptiMax oil in her and some sort of decarb like quickleen or ringfree.
