Go deep v with newer engine that was hopefully maintained properly over the last year compared ot the other one.

got_em_on

you have a 16 degree deadrise, would you have rather have the deep V instead?
In general is the deep V more popular or expensive?
just compairing because I never was on either on the water.

Deep-V will be better ride and sounds like it is in better shape for the same price.

I have the XL which is a little heavier than the SL and we stepped up from a 1991 2520 mod v with the 14 degree DR.

The XL rides good, but I know there are days the DV would help us through the chop better. We bought the boat used and there are not many DV XL's around so we could not really be to picky.

If we were looking at 2 similar boats such as the case you are in I would go DV. In addition, I am assuming the DV you are looking at has been used during the past season-the other boat was not winterized and not used in 16 months. thats a lot of time for the engine to be sitting around and for the boat gremlins to got to work sabotaging it.

Parker hulls are great-our 91 was solid-so the year of the boat does not really matter unless there is a specific design change you would prefer. However, the engines over the years do improve. Personally, I would prefer a newer engine then a newer hull.

In addition, if you want your engine data to show up on those new electronics you are buying you need the 2006 yamaha. We were hoping to get engine data to show up on our new Simrad NSS but found out Yamaha did not implement that until the 2006 model year.

I am either at achor for bass and black fish or drifting for fluke.
Is there a big differance in stability at anchor or drifting betwenn the two 21 and 16 degrees?

With a 25 foot boat
The stability is not a concern at anchor or drift
But the pound with out the Deep V on the way home in a chop sure is!
Go with the DV

GO WITH THE DEEP V,I HAVE THE 2310 DEEP V AND IT DOES WELL IN THE ROUGH STUFF.THE DOWN SIDE IS YOU WILL BURN MORE FUEL.

DV. I have a 2320dv. At drift you will rock a bit more. Think you are fine with 250 if propped right. I would also be concerned with a 2005 boat being neglected so early on in its life. I would read that as it was likely beat on and neglected throughout. I would be willing to bet it was wound out at WOT often.
