Hi All,
I'm plowing through my project boat.
The previous owner didn't bother much with pulling out the old unused wire, just added more.
I've been pulling out the wires that lead to nothing (but potential shorts), tracing wires, replacing lights and switches etc.
I have a horn switch but have not found a horn.
Does anybody know where Parker mounted the horn?
If they didn't where did you mount yours or did you just get an air horn (can)?
Seems a shame to have a switch for a horn but no horn.

2520 XL MV Diesel.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

The horn probably went bad, so he romoved it.

Parker puts them in a bad spot, because of the negative angle on the horn they all mostly rust up and hold water. Mine are shot and I will not be putting new ones back in the same place.

Do a search, there are many threads on the horns.

ill be removing the horns off my roof and either going with a fog horn or get an air horn and mount it under my control box on the tower. Not sure.

A few years ago, I got fed up with the 3rd replacement set of electric horns. I opted for a single white (powder paint) airhorn. To insure that no water could get to the compressor, I created a system. Hopefully this will make sense. 1. air line from compressor is tight fitted and siliconed into a hole drilled into the lid of a 1 quart plastic jar-- approx. 2 to 3 inches of air line projects into the jar
2. Another line is fitted into the lid opposite the first in the same manner, but only one inch into the jar This other end of this line goes directly up to the horn
3. Screw the lid tightly onto the jar.
I check the jar for water every month or so and have only had a 1/4"
of water in it at most. Obviously, the lid must be screwed on tightly to make an air tight seal.
