I'm curious about how much water gets in the bilge after a day of fishing. When tuna fishing we're constantly using the raw water washdown cleaning up the mess. I get some water in the bilge but not enough to activate the bilge pump. What I don't like is the salt water sweat and condensation that happens overnight for days afterward. Parker 2320.

How/where is the water from the raw-water-washdown getting into the bilges? On ours it goes out the scuppers. Almost all of the water that gets into the bilges of our 2520 is from rain water that comes in from the anchor-locker hatch on the forward deck and the hole under the windlass, where the anchor line and chain enters the anchor locker. All this water channels through the anchor locker, (because there is NO drain in the anchor locker!!) to the bilges, past the first bilge pump under the floor in the pilothouse then all the way to the aft bilge. I have to constantly hand-pump and dry the aft bilge. This water is the primary ingredient for mold. People here on CP, who keep their boats in covered building or boat houses don't have this issue as much.

Agree on both points. Even when I wash mine down after a trip all that water runs out of the scuppers. The only time my bilge has been wet was when the baitwell pump cartridge came out of the housing on a rough ride in. And when I say wet, brother she was wet 😂

I'm not sure but it might be getting by the bilge cover on the deck. That seems to be the likely weak spot.
