How To Pump Gas?

The only way I can pump gas into my boat is to pump very, very slowly. If I do not, the gas gushes out the vent.

Is there some secret to this?

Check your vent line to make sure that it is clear.
This time of year, wasps like to make nests in those openings.
They can also get occluded by salt...

I had the same problem last year. It was the vent. Mine was plugged with salt. I took it out and cleaned it and the gas flows like it should now. One thing I found was while cleaning the vent was that there is a screen in there, make sure you pull the screen and clean behind it. I had a second blockage behind the screen.

I had the exact same problem and came across a post Dale had made. When I replaced my vent last year, I pulled some of the slack out of the full line and cut a little shorter.

That slack was causing fuel to "pool" at the lowest part of the bend and then gush back up to the top pouring out of the vent.

Problem no more.

I took off the hose for the vent and checked it and the screens and they were clean. I removed about 8 inches of the hose per the suggestion. I hope that will address this. Will see.

I replaced all my vents today, fresh water, holding tank, fuel tank.

They crust over with salt.
