i just boght a 2520 that needed some obvious gunell repair. upon further inspection i noticed some heavy seperation at the pilothouse/hull connection. i gather this is from abuse and was wondering if i should be concerned about it as i take on the repair of the boat. also was wondering if there is a water tight hatch available for the stern compartment, as she takes water in a following chop.

I believe the year of the boat is 1995 and it was used as a launch to a private island off the shore of eastern long island. The cracks are around the back pilothouse wall and there is seperation on the deck from a couple of the ribs. I will also try to figure out how to post some photos. I have the equipment but I am not positive I have the know how. While I have a captive ear, what should be on the back of this hull. It currently has twin 130 Hondas, but seems sluggish. Do you have any idea what I should be making?
P.S. I am waiting on the estimate from the fiberglass contractor, and will post the quote.

I think your going to find that many of the deep v 2520's run with twin 150 yamahas. There are some posts here somewhere, that speak to the issue of weight on the Hondas. Too heavy for the hp output.

With the new FS300, I suppose you could run a single engine.
