Is this a double hull.. basically where the v berth is.. the carpet area of the hull. I noticed some have installed rod holders here. i'm assuming it is a double hull there.. or will that pop out the out side?

It is NOT a hull and liner there. Drill a hole and out the SIDE she will go  !

We tie them into the carpet or up to the washboard/gunnel/gunwhale area.

i would epoxy peices of teak or starboard to the hull, and mount whatever rodholders you want to that. i think thats what most guys do. personally, i mounted a rack on the side of the pilothouse that works pretty well. i dont leave any tackle onboard the boat since it got broken into a few years back.

yea, thats really the only way to get adherance to the hull. make sure you clean the hull thoroughly before attempting to use any sort of epoxy, or it will pull off. if using starboard, try roughing up the back with a serrated knife before glueing. anything other than epoxy will not work with starboard, dont know if you knew that already or not. :D

my buddy called me one day and wanted me to come look at his new rod holder's he put inside the cabin.on my wat to the back of the boat i allmost tore my ear off on something.you guessed it the screws where sticking out.he ended up putting a finish washer on the outside and turning the screws around the other way

Ouch! I would fill those and start over. LoL.

I have 2 sets of the 4 rod starboard holders. I plan on attaching the plastic blocks to the back of them, removing the carpet where the blocks will set. i'll then counter sink a few holes into the back of the blocks for the epoxy to push into and score them up. I thinking this will do the trick.

Is there a special epoxy I should get. ( home depot)

Yea.. went to home depot. all of them said Ng for PP and PE

That would be the right way... to glue the wood on first..

Any other place to get teak than ebay.. any other wood i could use?
