Ok guys, I am getting tired of pulling in my anchor on my 2120sc. It seems like the "good" free drop rope is popular set up? What do you think?Parker wants four hundred for the pulpit and good sells remanufactured windlasses as brand new ones are big bucks!! I appreciate any input. Thanks guys. -Joe

I installed a Power winch Capstan on my 2120 sc.very nice addition to the boat but be prepared, even if you are good at diy it still gonna cost ya some bucks.700 for the windless  coulpe hundred more for the wire cause ya gotta get the heavy stuff to handle the load.
My boat already had the pulpit on it w/roller so I just had to remove one of the cleats, fill those holes, and mount the winch. The model I bought has the motor on the side, not down in the locker, and I pefer it that way it's nice and sealed and wont sit in the locker and corrode.
The hard part was running the wire, and drilling the holes...darn Parkers are built so well that the stainless allthread that came w/the windless was too short,so I had to get Galvinized allthread coat it w/some antiseize, and thubolt it though the pulpit.I think the pulpit was something a little over 2" thick  Now thats what I call a pulpit  put some big ole fender washers on there, and bolted it on.
Make sure you run some extra wire so you can wire everthing on top,and then pull it back through, unless you have VERY small hands
Dont let me scare you off this project though, cause if I can pullit off just about anyone w/a lil bit of savy could.
It sure helps out alot after 3-4 dives and it's the end of the dayand you dont have to pull that hook off the bottom.
Good luck w/your install.

You can buy SS allthread at both Lowes and Home Depot. Check on your galvanized from time to time to make sure it is not corroding.

Thanks for the heads up on the allthread, wish i would have known before installing the Galv.
When I did the install the body of the unit itself is made of aluminum.and the allthread was stainless,I'm thinking OK what about electrolises....hope thats how you spell that....anyway I just put a ton of antisieze on the threads and went for it.
My question is to anyone is how do you put two different metals together, and at least slow down the process....I dont think you can totally eliminate it.
Yep had to go for it.If my head was smaller I stick it in the locker and check the threads, but that aint gonna happen  so I'm sure I'll see the windless getting loose when I pull it off the bottom one of these days, and go w/stainless then, unless the threads on the unit itself corrode so bad I have to drill it out,and retap :x Whats a poor boy to do?

I installed a ProFish free fall 2 years ago. It is truly a blessing when wreck fishing. The only problem is that the hole is not centered over the anchor locker. With this being said you have to becarefull when retreiving the anchor rode. When I am fishing lets' say 60 ' of water I will have to pull the rode back in the locker about 1/2 way up otherwise it will jamb up in windlass. Once this little step is mastered, you will have no problems.
