I have a 2320 and would like to add some cabin heat. Has anyone ever installed an inverter for an electric cabin heater. I have a 225hp Yamaha with a 45 amp alternator.

the one i use has a low oxygen shut off sensor as well as I keep the back open. It still takes the chill off even on very cold days. We fished a day and it was 22 degrees last fall and I had the heater on low and it make fishing a lot more comfortable. I certainly wouldnt close everything and go to sleep but propane heaters actually give off very low CO. that is why they are approved for indoor use.

We use these if we don't want to start the generator (to run the electric heater). I get them at WalMart; they come in hand and foot varieties. We use them in the sleeping bag overnite too.

An inverter running an electric heater would last about 20 minutes on a full battery.

How about a 12 volt electric blanket?

I agree.
How about an electric heater powered by a small gas powered generator?

I use a Honda EU 1000i to power my electric heater. You need a heater that's got a 750Watt setting for a 1000 watt generator.

And that same little generator can do any of these as well, albeit one at a time.
