I have a 2005 2320 with stock Lenco trim tabs. I'd don't find these to be suffiecient and in the past added shims from Lenco bringing them down approx half inch. I'd like to take advantage of the deep vee and would prefer a wetter ride than a hard chop. I'd like to go with a larger tab. Any Suggestions?

jorz,

I have a 2006 2300CCDV,heres what I did ,my boat came with Lencos 12x12,I took of the blades only and replaced them with 12x18,patched up the old holes (only one of the old holes will line up),I used that one as a guide for others.Made a big differance in how boat handles and rides, cost was about$200.00 for both blades.

Just remember with tabs, for best results and fuel efficiency, that width across the hull is better than projection off the hull. So 18" or preferably 24" width by 9" deep off the hull would give better results than 12x12s. But, used tabs at a great price sure can't be beat either :) !

Do u guys know where I can buy the tabs only? I may do the 12x12 to 12x 18 conversion this spring.

I'm pretty sure Jim Maier at BOE Marine carries them.

I'm wondering how the holes can be filled in? Any ideas guys?

I'm thinking thickened West Systems epoxy injected into the holes, then covered with tape until it sets up.
Dale might have a better method though.

Buy the $20 "sample" kit from www.raka.com and you'll have enough epoxy & fillers to fill that hole easily. Get long small 'throwaway' brush and coat the hole liberally with mixed resin, then make up some thickened and push/force it into the hole. That part of the hull has no wood, but you still want to seal them well.

i have the same 12 X12 on my 2320 dv and was wondering if the electric lenco pistions/screw acuators have enough power to push a larger tab, say 12 X18.

thanks,
charlie
