looking at a 2510 w/ I/O

I have not been able to find a 2310 so I am going look at a 2002 2510 with a 300hp i/o. I am planning on keeping the boat at a boatel. Any issues with this model/motor combo? Not thrilled wih the moror box. How is the fuel burn in this model.
