I currently have a 2000 2110 WA, 200 yamaha 2 stroke. Deep V.

I'm looking to move up to a 2008 2510 WA, 250 yamaha 4stroke.
It has the XL hull, 16 degree deadrise.

I have always heard and felt I should stay away from the MV, which is a 14 degree I believe.

Can anyone give advice on this hull or type of boat.

My current 21 is great, no complaints. But it seems like 4 feet longer and a foot wider just gives me that much more to love.

Will I regret giving up the DV?
And any thoughts on 250 hp? I'm concerned it will not be enough power.

on a side note, I cannot believe I have had a Parker for 10 years and have not come across this site until now.

Welcome! if the boat youre looking at is really a 2008, it will have the 16 degree XL hull, the 14 degree hull was discontinued a few years prior i believe. as for the comparison between the two, i cant help you, i only know of the 25 DV. but this topic has been beat to death over and over, im sure someone will link in. either that or try the search feature, youre bound to have hours of reading material. good luck! :D

Thanks

Yes, the 2008 is a 16 degree. I've been reading prior discussions on this board between MV and DV, but I'm not sure if they pertain to the 14 degree or 16 degree.

There must be a reason Parker changed it to a 16, just wondering if it has made a difference in performace.

One other primary difference from my current 2110, the engine bracket on the back of the 25 vs the cut-out.

Any feedback on the engine platform and how it handles at the dock would be appreciated.

At one time, the "MV" was a 14 degree hull.
The "XL" was a 16 degree... and the "DV" was (is) a 21 degree hull.

I believe that the reason for discontinuing the 14 degree hull was purely economics.
Building two hulls made more sense that building three. It's just that simple.

BTW - my 1996 MVSC is the 14 degree hull and I'm very happy with it.
If conditions allow, my single 225hp OX66 will push it to 33 kts loaded.
For her size and weight, you can't ask for much better than that.
