It is cobia time in the lower Chesapeake Bay now. It started off slow but is picking up now. I anchor up and chum for them using live croakers and eels. Sharks have been a very big problem except for our last trip when only one was caught. Hard to believe since 2 previous trips it was hard to keep baits in the water sometimes. Sight caster have been hitting it good also, seems like earlier they had really good results. There are alot more small fish being caught this year than in the past, great news I think for the future. Our last trip out was 7-11-12 in NE winds 15-20 and sporty 3 foot plus seas we had 7 cobia to 66.5 pounds. NE winds really turns on the cobia bite. I had a solo trip on the 27th of June and caught 6 up to 75 pounds.

Way to go to the entire crew. Cobia are far from an easy catch, so your catch record says a lot for your expertise and experience levels. See ya out on the bay.

Kudos and tight lines.
