Hi Folks, When I was cleaning out the pilot house for the winter I found a few areas where some mold is in the upolstry/carpet on the sides of the pilot house. This is my fault I wash the boat so many times I got things wet and during the summer in the pole barn some mold started. What can I clean it up with, with out destroying the carpet? Thanks Sean

I can't think of the name of it, you can get it at any grocery store (comes in a red spray bottle). Works ok. What year is the boat? Are you sure it isn't the glue that is starting to bleed through? It's a problem on "older" Parkers.....

Its a 2009, its in areas where things got damp and then a life jacket or other gear was against it so the mold grew. I wanted to just scrub the crap out of it but the upholstry dosn't look like it will hold up that well. Thanks Sean

Vinegar will work 50/50 vinegar and water. spray on let sit for 30 min and blot up. try on a small spot first but it should not harm the carpeting

I had great luck with a carpet/ upolstry machine that you can rent at the supermarket. It is a wet vacuum system that sprays and vacuums at the same time. I added a small amount of simple green to the water tank. Boat smells great and it was fairly easy to do. Made short work of a lot of mold.

Thats a cool idea 8)

Save yourself some elbow grease and just liberaly spray 100% bleach on the moldy areas, let it sit and the mold will disappear like magic. After the bleach dry, come back with a vacumn cleaner and suck up any residue left by the bleach. I did this the begining of the season last year or the year before. The liner looks as good as new with no ill effects from the bleach and the mold still has not come back.
