Hello again. Well I started getting my new to me Parker cleaned up before winter. I figure I do it now I don't have to do it in the spring when I should be out fishing. Any way’s a couple of questions.

1) What do I use on the railing and other aluminum parts?

2) The doors on the back of the seat stand how would I get them cleaned up? They are faded pretty good.

3) There was a leak from the power steering and the oil/stop leak stuff the previous owner put has run down the fiberglass. I looks and feels like I may have to scrape it off unless someone has a better suggestion. I tried blasting it with the power washer and it did not work.

4) On the rear seats there is wood instead of the seat. I have the seats that go there. My question is, is the wood suppose to be there or is this some made thing they did?

5) Is there a drain in the ancor compartment?

6) Inside the cabin the two dry storage boxs, the one on the left drains in to the front bilge pump the one on the right does not. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks in advance.

You are going to find that there as many cleaning solutions as there are CP members. You'll find that there will be some common themes from products that work well for the majority of members. For example, Barkeepers Friend will often pop up as a good cleaner for rust stains or general cleaning.

You may want to do a search for "cleaners" or barkeepers friend. It may help you find the threads with the various suggestions.

Regarding your questions:

1) Flitz
2)Your not going to get the color back but you can get them clean. Looks like you powerwashed the doors. I used TileX mildew remover on my other boat. Don't have that problem with the Parker yet.
3) If you're at the point of resort to scraping and risking damage to the finish, I would try EasyOff oven cleaner as the last chemical resort before putting a sander to it. Yes, i know it sounds crazy but I have used it on FGlass before and it WILL remove the shinny finish, but also remove whatever you sprayed it on. Try Barkeepers friend first.
4)Can't help you there
5) Yes
6)I've never noticed that. Don't know.

Good Luck!

Thanks Guy's.

I ordered up some of that Barkeepers friend. Looks like some good stuff.
