I am moving my (currently) flush mount VHF to a location out of the weather...an older radio for sure, but not at the top of the list for replacement right now. It is a standard horizon, the radio is 5 1/4 " wide, I have the screw knobs for the sides.

Anyone have a radio mount of this size that is collecting dust (maybe because you went flush mount)? Hate to spend $20 or more for something that cost a dollar to make.

I can make a simple wooden frame to go around it, but need to spend the time repairing the 5 X 2" hole hole in my console.

thanks

8" or so length of aluminum, maybe 1" wide or so and bent at an angle on each end, adding a hole drilled for the knobs ... could it be any easier?

Made one earlier this year for a Ratheon radar someone gave me. And I just made this one DIY the other week for my tower 3rd control station ....

Saltyfish-

I just read this- but if you didn't sort this out yet I have one you can have. I just bought a new SH VHF a few months ago and have the brand new bracket in the box.

Let me know if I can help!
