im all set to mount the helm on the second station i ordered from parker. I'm mounting a rear mount helm. the directions say that the hardware is for mounting a helm on 1 inch thick dash board. the directions say to call tele flex if your dash is less that 1 inch. my second station is only about 1/4 of fiberglass. of course tele flex is closed already. anyone else run into this problem? what did you do? shorter bolts? backer plate?

Is 1/4" of fiberglass strong enough to hold the helm? I would put a 1/2# or better piece of starboard over the face of the helm to better support the flex.
