It's called a spray hood or bow dodger...and while it may look a tad unorthodox, it will serve my crew well during the winter months. Most fabricators just want to build a miniature bimini and make it fit the bow, but I found someone willing to build to my specs....SS and no straps. This thing is rock solid and still gives me tread room to get to the bow or anchor locker without stepping on the hood. It doesn't fold down (I'll simply remove it during the summer...although it's pretty shady underneath)...but the permanent mounts are out of the way to reduce risk of snagging a knee. I didn't think the helm would benefit much, but I was wrong....the air diversion is significant. Here are some pics...

Note: Helm seat is missing because I pulled the livewell in lieu of a leaning post which is on order.

nice canvas work, looks great and aerodynamic too.

It's a sprayhood on a power boat and a dodger on a sail boat..On a 21 Parker it usually a 3 bow frame with varing heights of the bows to give it a sleek appearance. the back bow is 54 inches from the floor and at least 18 inches in front of the console. the wings angle back about midway of the console seat..Seems sprayhoods go in 15 to 20 year cycles. Parker had them as an option years ago
