Installed a Northstar F210 two weeks ago, purchased from boatersland.com. Worked great for 2 days (over a weekend). Boat sat for a week, then my dad and I went out Friday morning and it was reading 0.0 for about an hour, then started reading about 50% of what it should have (like 5gph at 4200rpm, which would be nice but is definitely wrong). Then it started working normally again for the rest of the day friday and saturday.

Took it out for a cruise last night and it read no higer than 0.2 the entire night, about 2 hours of cruising and trolling.

:(

I emailed boatersland.com, we'll see if they take care of it for me. The transducer is mounted properly, vertically, and secured. Also installed after the 10 micron filter so there shouldn't be any crap in the turbine. Guess I just got a dud.

Oh well.

Well that was fast. Called Boatersland. They are replacing it. I asked if they could cross ship it, so I would not have a hole in my dash while I waited for the replacement, and I was advised that was already how it was going to happen, they are shipping the replacement today with instructions and a label for returning the other one.

Nice suprise there! Hopefully the new one lasts a little longer than 2 days. Anyone else with a northstar f210 (or navman f2100 which the f210 is a clone of) have issues with the transducer? Hopefully it was just an isolated dud.

<knock on wood> No issues with my Navman 2100, going on 3 years now. :)

On the second transducer now after the events above. Last 2 times I went out recently, had no reading on the flow meter until I got out of the no wake zone and got in the throttle, then it started working and appears to work fine for the rest of the day.

If this one quits I don't know if I will replace it or just find something else interesting to fit in the 2" hole in the dash.

Quite disappointing.
