Was out trolling for 3 hrs yesterday. Yami was running fine. Went to run to another spot and as soon I get on a plane the engine just stops. Starts right back up runs fine. Go to run again and the same thing. Finally my friend suggest trimming up the engine after we plane off and we do and she stays running. Water in the line? Clogged fuel filter. Fuel pump?
Thanks in advance

Pinched fuel line maybe? Tho I don't have a lot of confidence in that guess.
Was the condition reproducable?

Could be electrical ... i.e., loose battery cables ... maybe activating the trim kept the e-circuit intact.

I'd bet $$ you run wing nuts, they could be loose. But IMHO lock washers still should be used on battery posts (above AND below the battery cables) for secure and TIGHT connections, see picture attached below.

THROW AWAY any wing-nuts and use only Nylok nuts on ALL battery/cable connections!

FYI - Have you noticed that newer batteries are coming out with the same size post (5/16") connections? Mandated by law, it appears "loose connections using wing-nuts only" makes such a poor and high resistance connection that can produce quite a bit of heat under load, so much so that studs have melted right off the battery. Plus, with such heat, all sorts of bad things can then happen, e.g., such as fire or explosion  .

Fuel line seemed fine. It happened a half doz times before we figured to trim up then it ran ok at higher rpms w/ less drag. Little bumpy but it got us home from Stellwagon. Would have been a long ride at 5mph. Oh and you win the $$ Dale. I do have wing nuts on the posts but not for long. Good advice, on my way to the marine store this afternoon. Going to replace the fuel separator too and take it for a run.

Check your battery connections at the motor for cleanliness and tightness as well.
