I just bought a 2006 2320 and the motor on it was toast (hurricane sandy). What I want to know is the range of speeds I can expect with a Yamaha 4 stroke, trying to decide between 200, 250, or 300 any info or help would be great thanks

Andrew

250 very easy 4100 Rpm, 30 Mph is just on plane and a very nice cruise, 9.6 to 9.8 gph. This in on a 23 CC though.
IMO, dont put a 200 HP on that boat consider 225 and up

I put a Suzuki DF 250 on my 1995 2320. I'm very happy with the choice. I was upgrading from a Yammie 200 SWS 2-stroke and it is a huge improvement. 2.5 nmpg vs. 1.7 or so. Lots more power, no smoke and much much quieter.

Well, first off ... a Yam 250 isn't a 250hp motor unless you run high octane fuel. And since the Suzuki DF250 pushing a huge 16" diameter 4-blade prop outperforms the Yam 300, by getting 0.5MPG better @ cruise ... then I would say the Suzi DF250 is you best choice!

Nevermind it was $10K less, whereas the Yam was all electronic control$ ...

That boat lends itself well to a Suzzy DF-250. For speed, fuel millage and price....It will be hard to beat.
