My wife and I are in the "information stage" of boat shopping. We both agree on the 2520 Sport Cabin. I've been looking at the internet used listings for a couple of weeks and have a few questions.
1)Modified vs Deep V- We'll primarily be fishing the Delaware Bay which is known for it's "chop". We'll be ocassionally fishing the Chesepeake as well. We're leaning toward the MV as I've been told it will reduce "roll" while fishing but can beat you up some on the ride. Any truth to this....any recommendations for the DE Bay?
2)What do the models designate? XL,XLD,SL,SLD,SC etc.
3)I'm 6'5"-Does one offer a taller cabin than another?
4)I'm partial to the bi-folding cabin door vs the curtain. Is this specific to a model or just an option?
5)Been told the 225 Yamaha is underpowered for the 2520....any truth?
6)Anything that I should stay away from because of known problems or a least know to look for or ask about?

Thanks,
Brian

I can answer a few things based on my experience with a few Parkers.

3)I'm 6'5"-Does one offer a taller cabin than another?

Board member John from Madison has a 2520 open back. When I was looking at my Parker 2530 I discovered his 2520 was lower in height by about 6-7" and could not stand up in the pilot house. I am 6' 3" and have about an inch of clearance in my 2530.

1)Modified vs Deep V

I would go with the deep vee, my 2530 is very stable but it has twins.

4)I'm partial to the bi-folding cabin door vs the curtain. Is this specific to a model or just an option?

The Bi-fold door is something a few members have custom made, but the cabin door is not that bad, that was another concern I had being tall.

I'm sure other members will chime in. Good Luck and feel free to post questions.
