Never had a 4 stroke before, can someone help with what...

Needs to be done in Spring? I bought the boat in Nov and took it for a ride with the orginal owner, but have never owned a 4 stroke before.
I checked the oil and it shows a bit low, what oil should I use to fill?
Change water separator?
Also the water is not pissing out of the weep hole? It was last year when I brought her home, I am going to to try to clean it out with a needle and some water to see if it will start to piss out. If not what other than the Water could it be?

Just want to make sure I get everything right other than spending tons of money on a learning curve.

After reading posts on the website I am worried about the corrosion everyone speaks about on the yammys water jackets.
Like I said we took her out in Nov and ran fine, how to I check for the corrosion everyone talks about with disassembling the whole power
head.

I have mine serviced at end o' season then I am ready to go in Spring.
If not sure what has been done ,I would at least change the oil and and filter per.( your manufacture should have info listed on their web site for type and how much oil). Also the gear oil.
Four strokes can have trouble picking up water on a flush kit. Get at least a double sided flush kit with good hose pressure and try to also soak the lower pick ups in a tub or block them off with some tape.
If stored full of fuel make sure treated and change the fuel/water filter, if close to low, I'd drain the tank and start fresh.

There are pickups lower than the ones we use with the ears? Do you have a pic of these?
Maybe I have the ears on the wrong spot, same as a 2 stroke correct?

What make is your outboard? I am referring to yamaha that have the main water pick ups on the side and then a set of smaller lower pick ups. If you have 4 vent like thingies to pick up water than this may be an issue if you only have 2 water pick ups then it is not.
