Shortly after getting my Quad Cab Ram 2500 4x4 (short bed) in 2003, I installed a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust system. Single 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet 50 series muffler (specifially designed for the HEMI) w/ mandrel bent aluminized pipes. I never was all that excited about it so I finally chopped it off last night.

But I took a video/sound clip of it first...

The systems came off very easily. I only had to cut the pipes coming out of the muffler. The extension pipe (joins the cat to the muffler) actually slid off the cat after I removed the clamp.

No wonder I had an exhaust leak. The Flowmaster pipe fit so poorly that the clamp wore a hole in it.

Descent muffler, but the rest of the system sucked. If any of you are contemplating a Flowmaster system, forget it. Buy the muffler and get the pipes custom done by a local shop.

The new system will consist of a stainless Magnaflow 12589 (single 3" in, single 3" out), stock 3" tail pipe and modified stock 3" extention pipe (cat to muffler) from an '03 Quad Cab Ram 2500 4x4 long bed. Dodge used some pretty nice mandrel bent low-grade stainless pipe for original equipment. I got the extension pipe from the long bed so I'de have a little extra lenght two work with since the Magnaflow is shorter than the stock muffler. I'll just have to trim off a few inches to make it fit and have a few hangers welded up.

The rest of the install is scheduled for tonight. I tossed the new muffler on last night just to hear it (kid on Christmas morning syndrome), but you guys have to wait... :D :D :D
