Just wanted to introduce myself as a new registered user. I recently purchased my father-in-law's 1996 2530 and love it for the most part. We had many great years of fishing the Chesapeak before his health declined a few years back. Anyway, he installed a new Mercruiser 5.0 MPI in 2007, but the boat still has the original Bravo II outdrive. I've had a terrible time with the motor running hot and in Guardian mode. It's been back to the same marina for service three times and still has the same issue. They have replaced the water pump housing and impeller. They also say there are no blockages in the outdrive. I've already spent over $1k trying to fix this and still have the same issue. I may have to sell the boat if I can get it working properly. Would appreciate any advice on the fix and what might be a good asking price. The boat is in excellent shape and comes with a trailer.
