So I just picked up a 1998 Parker 1801 in beautiful shape you can tell the boat was cared for and not abused. I noticed today that the drain plug is missing, is there an online source that I can find a replacement. I know I can find drain plugs at just about any marine shop but it appears that the plug is threaded and I like the idea of having it secure.

I know this thread is useless without pictures.... Be patient they are on the way

Thanks guys, coming from freshwater a lot of our plugs are plastic some threaded some not. I'll be heading to the shop looking for the bronze threaded like you guys posted. Thanks

They are not usually Bronze....They are Brass...Just snug it in there....Don't tighten the Stem Winding S@^t out of it.

Walmart Boat section as mentioned....1 for a spare on the boat.

And for added piece of mind, wrap the threads with a round of teflon tape before putting it in.
And as Bobby said... just snug it in there.

You got it :)

They never wrap the threads on any of the boats around me.... The "Garboard" Plug as it is called, gets taken out and reinstalled everytime the boat is put in and taken out of the water.

Some drystacks put the owners plug at the back of their boat, like on the motor bracket or in the splashwell....Some just throw them all in a "Community" can and pick them at random.
