I'm new within 10 minutes here, but I've been looking around and comparing boats and i really like the parkers, they're a great boat. I've narrowed it down to the 2830 extended cabin (more realistic) and the 3420 XLD which would be awesome if money was no object. I have a ton of questions that I can never find a right answer for, so i figured what better place to ask than here right? what is the difference between the 2830 and the 2820? I cant seem to find the pictures I want of each one, the parker website is somewhat limited. and i heard that parker is in the process of redesigning the 2830, is that a fact? better yet, does anyone have any experiences with the 2830 / 2820? how are they for fuel, how many people can you take on, how many do they sleep for an overnight, etc? I'm limiting my questions, i swear!
Any and all input is great, thanks guys

it'll be hard to find useful feedback on either the 2830 or the 3420, seeing as the 2830 hasnt even been finalized yet and the 3420 is a relatively new model with very few that i know of having been sold as of yet. the difference between the 2820 and the 2830 as i understand it is the 2830 has an extended cabin, which should mean about 2-3 feet of extra interior space over the 2820, which is a very popular model. personally, i loved the idea of the 2830 when it came out a few years ago, and i love the idea of it now. its an ideal mix, the cabin space of my 2530 with the full fishing room of a standard 2520. i'd say that, given that the pilothouse on the 2830 will probably be similar in layout to the 2530 (v-berth forward, bench seat to stbd, table to port), i wouldnt want to try to sleep more than maybe 3 people given my standard load of canyon gear. throw in 2 bench seats rather than the table, that might go up, but thats not a good trade in my opinion. the 3420 can sleep 2 easily forward, and another one or two on the dinette, assuming you use the under deck room for storage as i would. maximizing sleeping space, i'd say 4 pretty uncomfortably on the 2830, 5 pretty comfortably on the 3420. of course, this is all total speculation, before we see the interior layout of the 2830.

thanks for clearing that up for me! I think my best bet is to wait for the 2830 to come out, i like the deck space and the cabin space, sounds like a good mix to me. now i just have to start my list of add-ons!
