I've been lurking on this site for quite awhile and must compliment all of you on such an amazing resource for loyal Parker owners or, as in my case, a wannabe Parker owner. I can honestly say that this site has swayed me toward the purchase of a Parker as opposed to other brands.

All boats have issues, but the way you guys address them and attest to the customer service record of this company really affirms my choice.

I've been teetering back and forth between a Scout 24' center console and a Parker 2320 SL. I'll probably take the plunge in February at a local show here in NJ. I have a question and have no doubt that I am in the right place.

I'm told that if a boat has a galley in addition to a few other creature comforts that a portion of the expense can be written off come tax time as a "vacation home" type deduction.

Do any of you have a sort of galley setup on a 2320? If so, any chance I can see a phtoto or two?

Thanks in advance. I cannot wait to post a photo of my very own Parker and join what looks to be a very special group of enthusiasts of this fantastic brand.

Welcome!

If you can finance with HEL, you can deduct interest just as a second home, no need to worry about 2nd home AND the unwanted attention 2nd home deduction could attract.

As far as your question about the deduction as second home goes. I take the deduction. I believe the requirements are a toilet, fresh water system, area for sleeping, and a means for cooking. My 2320 came with a toilet, I added a FW system, came with V-berth, and I have the most awesome rodholder grill set up you have ever seen. So, that in my mind covers the requirements.

Great deduction.
