I have a 2520XL and the Helm Pedestal Seat cracks and squeaks when I seating in the seat and the boat is in rough or choppy seas. I'm not sure where the noise is coming from and if I can find the source what lubrication to use to stops the noise. It drives me nuts. I'm thinking about removing the seat from the pedestal stand and slide mechanism to see if I can determine the source of the noise. Any one have this problem and was able to solve. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Bryan: Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure that is my problem. The seat seems to work just fine on the slider but just squeaks so loud that it gets on your nerve after trolling all day in choppy seas. I think I'm going to have to take the seat a part to see if any part/s are cracked. As I said the seat works just fine bit it is the noise that it makes that drives me nuts

Looking for any other ideas please.

If it was me i would be there with a can of WD-40 and spray everything that i can and see if it goes away that way before i take it apart!!!

Keith: I have sprayed with silicone thinking that it was the teflon parts rubbing against the metal parts causing the problem but with no luck. But I'll tell you one thing I'm not going to stop trouble shooting until I find a problem/fix.

Thanks for your suggestion Keith but I don't think that is going to solve the problem.

Maybe there is a rubber gasket that it rotted and you can change it i wish i lived closer to you to try to help you out with it and trouble shoot it with you!!!!

If you look underneath and the plastic slides are white, they are probably cracked and need to be replaced with the black ones. They fit better and seemed to be made out of a toughter plastic.

WD40 and silicone spray are probably to thin for this app. I greased my new parts up with OMC triple guard grease, the blue stuff.

Smooooooth as silk now. :D

I appreciate all the suggestions. I will be going to the boat in the next couple of days and you all have given me ideas to check-out. If there are any other suggestions I would be pleased to get them from you. If I am able to solve the problem, I will report the results on this post.

Thanks everyone and I am looking for any other suggestions.
